Hello, and welcome to my portfolio.

Hello, my name is Niko Stivanakis, and I am a student at UNBC. I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program for Elementary School teachers. I was born in New Westminster, BC but I grew up here in Prince George. I gave always had a passion for teaching and passing on knowledge to others, and this is why I want to become a teacher.

Some of my passions outside of the classroom include outdoor activities such as playing soccer, mountain biking and hiking. I always love to be outside, and any chance I get to work or play outside, I usually take it. I also would like to take opportunities in my future classrooms to be able to teach outside. Some of my goals include becoming a successful teacher and be able to teach in different parts of the country and potentially aboard one day.

I have prior experience working with children of a variety of ages, ranging from 3-18 years old, as a youth soccer coach. Working with these kids has helped me understand effects ways of teaching, how to manage kids at those young ages, as well as re-enforce my desire to help our youth learn and grow as people.
